The people of America have spoken and the election has been decided. Isaiah 40:15 tells us: “Surely the nations are like a drop in a bucket; they are regarded as dust on the scales; He weighs the islands as though they were fine dust.” As for the body of Christ, we must obey the Word of God. As we faithfully pray for the peace of Jerusalem, let us join together and pray for our new President Elect. Pray that he will listen to the voice of the Lord and that angels will encamp around him and his family.
Let me share with you a brief experience that I had while spending a few days with family in San Antonio, Texas. While watching the returns on election night, when Pennsylvania went in favor of Barak Obama, I knew what the outcome would be. I was unable to go to sleep. The Holy Spirit urged me to get out of bed, get on my knees, and pray specifically for the Obama family. After praying, I went to bed and quickly went to sleep. The next morning I heard the gentle voice of the Spirit say thank you for praying for the Obama family. Folks, this strikes my heart as very, very serious and protection will be paramount.
Paul the Apostle says in 1 Thessalonians 5:18, “Thank [God] in everything [no matter what the circumstances may be, be thankful and give thanks], for this is the will of God for you [who are] in Christ Jesus [the revealer and mediator of that will].” The Message translations reads like this, “Be cheerful no matter what; pray all the time; thank God no matter what happens. This is the way God wants you who belong to Christ Jesus to live.”
Our hope for our families and this nation is dependent on believers doing exactly what the Word of God says to do!

It is so important before God to honor His Word at all times. Yes, the election is over, and now we are given the opportunity to practice not only our faith but our attitude toward a new and challenging time in America. The scriptures are very clear that we submit ourselves to the governing authorities: “For there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.” Romans 13:1. Also, Paul said: ”I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone—for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all goodness and holiness.” 1Timothy 2:1-2. In Proverbs 21:1 “The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD, like the rivers of water, He turns it wherever He wishes.”
I just once again want to say thank you for all the folks that came out to October Fest and for everyone that helped make it possible. Special mention to Jack Wagner for organizing and obtaining the food and for everyone that helped set it up and cleaned up afterwards. What a great night of fun and fellowship!
Thank you for being so faithful with your prayers, support and concern. It means so much to us as we labor together for Him! We wish a Happy Thanksgiving season to you and your family. Be blessed abundantly!
