Bless you for caring !
Dear Friend,
Now more than ever is a good time to seek the Lord with all your heart, and remain humble before your God!
I have been reading in 2 Chronicles 26 where Uzziah had been a great King! He had turned a nation from idolatry and wickedness to a country that once again served God according to the Law of Moses. This was his secret! “He did what was pleasing in the Lord’s sight just as his father, Amaziah, had done. Uzziah sought God during the days of Zechariah, who instructed him in the fear of God. And as long as the King sought the Lord, God gave him success. The tragedy came in the latter part of his fifty-two year reign over Judah. He had become powerful; he also became proud, which led to his downfall. He sinned against the Lord his God by entering the sanctuary of the Lord’s Temple and personally burning incense on the altar. This was the work of the priests alone, the sons of Aaron who are set apart for this work.
The greatest test to a human being, a church, an organization, or nation is pride! The book of Proverbs 16:18, says, Pride goes before destruction, and haughtiness before a fall. Another translation says, First pride, then the crash— the bigger the ego, the harder the fall. This was what happen to Uzziah and he died in isolation with leprosy. We could name many leaders of countries before and after this story, with a similar ending. But God had a man waiting in the wings, a prophet who was a contemporary of Uzziah, ready to speak God’s truth in the spirit of humility. Isaiah said that in the year King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord high and lifted up and His train filled the temple. Isaiah said that he would go and speak the truth to Judah in order to save a nation. Will there be prophets, pastors, teachers, and business people that will be willing to see and hear what God is saying to America? Are we as concerned for America as Isaiah was for Judah?
I believe we have some great Outreach Ministries within Helping Neighbors Worldwide Ministries that are humble but bold about their faith in Jesus Christ and are doing something about it. I am so excited by each of these Outreach Ministries and their great effort to forge ahead against all odds, and with very little financial or other resources, and do great things for the Kingdom of God!
A very special presentation will be given by Jerry and Pat Prosapio on August 29, at Life Church, 6600 W. 127th street in Palos Heights.
The evening will start at 7PM to 8:30 with light refreshments and then a very moving presentation about Jerry’s trip to Cambodia where Katie’s Hall was dedicated. Due to limited space please email your confirmation of attendance at Jerry@KatiesComfort.org.
We can now give you a new chapter in the great outreach of Katie’s Comfort Ministry! (www.katiescomfort.org) Jerry Prosapio has returned from Cambodia where “Katie Hall” was dedicated as a Teen Challenge Center for children addicted to drugs, glue, and other substances that was literally destroying their lives. The government has invited Teen Chaflenge into Cambodia to help with this serious problem. Is this not a cause for prayer giving and thankfulness to a miracle working God, our Lord Jesus Christ? Please hold this enclosed picture near your heart of prayer and believe God for continued miracles in this impoverished country. Katie’s home going is continually producing great triumph!
