Dear Friend,
What a wonderful time to be a Christian and know the truth concerning Christmas! Yes, the world is hoping for peace but is never quite able to find it.
The Christian has not only found it but should be sharing with everyone the truth of peace on earth, goodwill toward men.
I have often struggled knowing such great news and wonder why so many people fail to recognize this great truth. One of the secrets to this great quest is found in the Gospel of Luke where Simeon, a devote and righteous man, came to the Temple one day prompted by the Holy Spirit.
The most Holy Season is now upon us. Most people will not even think about who Jesus is or what He has done for all of us. To others, it will be a time of refreshing and rekindling of our hearts toward our Savior To some it will be the most precious moment of their life.
Simeon had a great anticipation of the coming Messiah. He had been told that he would not die until he had seen the Lord’s Christ.
His great quest was fulfilled that day when Joseph and Mary walked in to dedicate their first born child.
Thank you !
Thank you for your continued prayers and support of Helping Neighbors Worldwide Ministries! You are so important to this ministry and without you the ministry could not be possible, you make a difference! Bless you for caring! We wish you a very Merry and Mighty Christmas and a Blessed New Year!
P.S.
The IRS requires that all contributions must be postmarked by December 31st. for us to give giving credit for 2007.
When he came into the Temple he immediately recognized the child Jesus as the Lord’s Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One.) The promise given to him that he would not die until he saw the Messiah had come true. Now he could die in peace.
Today, December 2007, we are still expecting the Messiah. Not for the first time but the second time! Just like Simeon, we do not know when He will return; but just as sure as Simeon was, we too know that He will come back. The scripture tells us that He will come for “Those who are [eagerly, constantly, and patiently] waiting for and expecting Him.” Hebrews 9:28b. Let us have the same spirit of anticipation as Simeon in looking for the Messiah. Christmas is a great time to renew that spirit of anticipation!
The first Noel is a beautiful Christmas Carol! In Latin, Noel means birthday! Yes, the birthday of the King! The last verse of this great carol says, “Then let us all with one accord sing praises to our heavenly Lord who hath made heaven and earth of naught, and with His blood man-kind hath bought!”
