Just a few weeks ago I was startled by an awareness that the Holy Spirit revealed to me about Ezekiel 8:5 where it says, “beside the entrance to the gate of the altar, stood the idol that had made the LORD so angry.” This idol appears to be an image of Asherah, the Canaanite goddess of fertility, whose character encouraged sexual immorality and self-gratification. This indeed is the American idol of today! We are worshiping sexual immorality and self-gratification in an unprecedented manner. Since prayer has left many of our churches in America, the Glory of God is leaving the churches in America just like it left the Temple in Israel. I believe today, that the Glory of God in America has already left the altar, the door or threshold, and is in the Market Place or street. It will soon go the gate, which is our state and national capitals. This will bring judgment and then it will go to the mountain and Jesus will come back!
Much has happened since our last letter to you. We were led by the Holy Spirit to go back to the east coast to praying churches that had welcomed us when we prayed in every capital with Prayer Across America. What a great challenge and inspiration as we spent three weeks there. It was unusual as we felt this awesome burden as we ministered in Bowie, MD. We prayed for three days in Dover Delaware; spoke three times on Sunday in North Marlboro, New Jersey, and the entire week in Vernon-Rockville, suburb of Hartford, CT. We had several nights of restless sleep and nightmares on the last three days of our journey. However, the power of the Holy Spirit was awesome in every service. I marveled as young mothers and others wept before the Lord for over two hours on Sunday evening.
If there is ever a time for America to get back to prayer, the Word and Church, it is now! We must get back to loving Jesus and each other as we did at first if we are to be safe. God told Israel in Deuteronomy 32:37-38 “Where are their gods, the rock in which they took refuge, who ate the fat of their sacrifices and drank the wine of their drink offering? Let them rise up and help you, let them be your protection!” There is hope for America but only if we seek God and His righteousness!
We have good news to share about some of our Outreach Ministries; Landmark Christian Academy has launched with over sixty students enrolled.
The deaf ministry with Carol Vetter continues to reach the deaf and continues to need much prayer and support. Kim Kaufman with YWAM is now training new recruits to the ministry and plans a trip to India with these students.
It was very difficult to say goodbye to our two dear friends and sisters in the Lord, Christine Darnell and Donna Dillman. We do not grieve as the world grieves because of the confidence that we have due to the promises of the Word and Jesus Christ. We know that we will be with them in Eternity. Please continue to join us in prayer and support for the families. We don’t know why they weren’t healed on this earth but we do know that they are whole and complete and with our Lord and Savior enjoying Eternity.
Keep the ministries in your prayers as we work toward the end of 2006. We are planning our annual appreciation dinner for December 28, 2006. Last year was a great time and this year we are looking forward with great anticipation and excitement. We are hoping that you can attend and please invite a guest that would like to hear about the Helping Neighbors Worldwide Ministries. There is no charge to attend the event because it is a chance to thank our supporters and for them to hear more about the ministries. It is our hope that this will be a time where many people will continue to affirm their support and others will join in with the ministry of the outreach ministries and the overall ministry of Helping Neighbors Worldwide Ministries.
Dear Friend,
